About Us

MetaCube3D began with one printer, some curiosity, and a drive to turn digital ideas into real, functional objects. What started as a side project has grown into a service that helps individuals and businesses prototype, test, fix, or create custom parts through 3D printing.

The name MetaCube3D was inspired by "m³", meter cubed, the measure of volume and space in the physical world. It reflects how the brand is rooted in spatial thinking, structure, and hands-on creation.

The focus for now is on FDM 3D printing, but we’ve also started exploring laser engraving and sticker printing, with plans to make those services available soon.

Whether you're bringing a new product to life or solving a practical problem, MetaCube3D is here to help make it real, layer by layer.

Meet the Founder – Isaac Yong

Hi, I’m Isaac!

Before starting MetaCube3D, I worked as a design engineer in injection molding. My job was to make sure parts could actually be manufactured—factoring in things like draft angles, undercuts, ejection, and split lines. But what I enjoyed most, even then, was the process of designing something in 3D and imagining how it would feel to hold the final product in my hands.

I’d wanted a 3D printer for a long time, but back then I was renting with roommates and didn’t have the space for one. Eventually, I got my own place—and finally bought my first printer. I started experimenting—fixing broken parts, modeling small solutions, and printing things that felt useful. One project led to another, and that’s how MetaCube3D came together.

These days, I still handle most of the work myself—from preparing prints to communication and packing. Over time, I hope to build a small team that shares the same mindset: thoughtful design, practical execution, and a genuine appreciation for the process.

A Few Things About Me

  • I studied engineering at National University of Singapore (NUS) and worked in injection molding design before diving into 3D printing full-time.
  • I self-taught coding during COVID, and eventually graduated from General Assembly bootcamp. I worked as full stack software engineer for 2 years before going back to performing music full time
  • I’ve always liked solving practical problems. One of my first projects was designing a bottle lock. It took hours of prototyping (probably cheaper to buy a new bottle), but it was satisfying to make it work. When the part eventually broke (learned the hard way that matte filament isn’t the toughest), I just printed another.
  • I also make music as Isaac Yong, with originals and covers on YouTube and Spotify.
  • I live with cats. They show up during work hours, inspect filament, and occasionally sit where they shouldn't.
